English, Sonya. "Write or Wrong? Teachers Wary of Technology's Effects on Writing Skills". 16 March 2009.

This article is about teachers from different high schools who are cautious of what technology is doing to the

writing skills of the students. It talks about how texting and instant messaging produce "non-thinking" students

and that they do not require reflective thinking. Some of the teachers even talk about how teachers themselves

are supposed to be the guidance for students in knowing how to write properly both formally and informally.

I agree with the viewpoint of the author of this article because it agrees with my thesis statement and the

argument I try to make in my paper.

  1. So I think that this article is actually giving a counter to your argument. You are arguing that technology is beneficial, right? I think I may have read this wrong so let me know but it seems like this article is explaining why teachers don't want to use more technology and feel that as their responsibility to students, they need to teach them the right way of writing without their technological means. If I got this wrong please let me know, but either way you can still use this source. Good luck on your paper!

  2. I think that you should have gone into a little bit more detail about how this source is relevant to your thesis. Both the summary and the analysis were supposed to be a full paragraph, so that you could write about the details and how you would connect it to your paper. Although it may be a great article to use, all you said was that it agrees with your thesis (which we don't even know), so maybe tell us more about how it fits in which what you're arguing.
