Thompson support blog

Last year, I had to write a 10 page paper for English, and I needed to talk about a variety of topics, including different topics about myself. I found that technology helped me write it because I was able to write my thoughts faster, and I was able to keep my original thoughts in my head before I lost them due to time passing by. I was also able to be more articulate with my words because I feel like I am able to write better whenever I use some sort of technology whether it is a phone or a computer. I feel that way because I almost always text or use Facebook, so when Thompson says technology is improving the writing of our generation, I completely support his position.

my ad blog

The rhetorical situation in the ad shown in the link below involves two wrestlers in what looks like an arena. One of the wrestlers is on top with a smile on his face because he appears to like the softness of the other wrestler's suit. The purpose is to promote how soft the detergent makes clothes when they are being washed. I think the ad is using pathos because it is using emotion. The wrestler in the blue looks happy or comfortable when he's feeling the uniform of the wrestler in the red. The detergent makes the clothes softer, and because they are softer, the detergent brings happiness.

first blog

My writing process is a little different than the writing process that is now taught in high school or maybe even middle school. I start out by looking over my notes if I have taken any, and then I start brainstorming ideas for what direction I want to take my paper. After I have my idea, I start writing my paper. Since I do not normally proofread after I finish my entire paper, I think through each sentence and proofread a paragraph at a time to see if it fits with what I am aiming to argue in my paper. I would describe my process as unconventional because I only write a first draft that I proofread while I write it, and I also do not make an outline. I write what I feel like is appropriate according to how the paper would flow best. I feel like this process works for me very well. I have never had any problems with this process during school. I have used this process for almost three years, and I have always done well on my papers throughout that time period. My writing process can be challenging at times for a couple reasons. First of all, since I only write one draft, it takes more time because I think through every sentence and paragraph of my paper, even though any writing process will be time-consuming. I have to make sure that it makes sense, flows smoothly, and argues the point that I want to make all at the same time. My process is challenging because since I only write one draft, I need to make sure all of my main points that I wish to argue are in my paper and that they flow together smoothly to make not only a passing but well-written paper.
